Hi,

I would like to perform a complete reformat and clean install of Ubuntu on my Mac PPC G5. After going through ubuntu.com, downloading the .iso disk image, burning with disk utility and finally restarting with disk in drive, I am still unable to enter the installation at start up.

I've tried holding option, c, etc... It only shows my usual OS X drive to boot up. However, it is showing the mac face with question mark when turning on, so something is happening there at least.

Please help me figure this out, I have been searching for an answer for hours.

Specifications of my computer:

Machine Name: Power Mac G5
Machine Model: PowerMac11,2
CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (1.0)
Number Of CPUs: 2
CPU Speed: 2 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 1 GHz
Boot ROM Version: 5.2.7f1

I'm rather new to Ubuntu and eager to get it running, not exactly a computer genius but I can usually fix a problem. Being that I have completely exhausted all of the options I can think of. Any suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated.

I guess they really don't support the PPC archetype here...
