not in ubuntu specifically, but you can install greasemonkey in firefox and then there is a greasemonkey script that lets you download youtube videos.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/37126 (there are other downloader scripts, i just picked an example)

i havnt tried this one in particular but i do have greasemonkey scripts working on my firefox

I find this to be the best way:

HowTo: Download YouTube videos (the easy way) (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=547848&highlight=youtube+download)

After you have loaded/watched the video, simply copy it from your /tmp directory ... no tool or package required!

I used to do earlier like this, but in my new installation of ubuntu 9.04, the video after buffering also not available in /tmp folder. Is there any other location for it?

This is a fairly good application if you set it to do more then single downloads you can start on one move on to others and have them all downloading, it will also convert as well.
