upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 from cd only?

This may be a very simple fix that i am overlooking but i want to upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 with the use of a cd only. i have a dual booted Dell inspiron 3800 with Windows 2000 installed on it as well as ubuntu 9.04. What I want to do is a simple upgrade using my CD as I have bad internet. I would like to copy over as much of the information as possible from the previous OS and leave windows 2000 still there and untouched. But the Ubuntu install will only let me resize the partitions and wipe the disk etc. Nothing about going over top of a previous OS. I know when ubuntu runs a setup, you can take the documents etc from another OS and copy it over for you which is what I want to do.
