Alacarte problem

Been searching the forum for the answer to my issue, with no luck so far.

So, here's the problem.

When I select System>Preferences>Main Menu I get a blank grey panel. So I did a couple of sugested fixes, ran Alacarte from an ALT-F2 screen and still nothing.

So any clues, possible answers would be appreciated.

Well it looks like I did not get an answer.

Any way solved it. Did a reinstall of the whole system, glad that it takes minutes rather than hours, like that other OS.

Yeah, that solves most problems. Pity that you only start again everything, including the same problems. There are too many problems that never get answered or solved in Linux and this is the first and main problem for whch leaving Windows is almost impossible for the average user.
