Anyone know if / when a fixed Live install CD will be released?

Currently I am unable to install using the 9.10 install CD. Once I remove the dmraid file I can then see my hard drive, however when I try to partition and format, the process fails. From what I can tell some process or daemon has it marked as in use and it will not allow the disk to be formatted.

9.04 installs just fine with no problems.

Late April, 2010.

In the meantime, have you tried installing with the Alternate CD or mini.iso?

WOW... so they are really going to leave the ISO as is until the next release ?

and no. Thank you for the suggestion. I did not think about the alternate cd. I'll give that a shot and if same issues I will just load 9.04 again or maybe see what else peeks the interest.

Thank you again for your time!

I am not any official expert or anything :) but I think they only do new install discs for the long term support releases (8.04.1, 8.04.2, etc.)

If you look at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/9.04/release/ you'll see the 9.04 install disk is still dated April 2009.

You still have options though (alternate cd, upgrade from 9.04, etc) so I think you'll be OK. :) The alternate CD has helped me out of many a jam.
