View Full Version : eee pc 901 touchpad config

alright, so just to get this out of the way, i'm a noob but not a rube. i've been on ubuntu for about a year now on my eee, and i just upped to karmic. everything looks awesome except one detail: i use middle click entirely more often than i use right click, so the new situation where i'm using three fingers to open and close tabs in firefox is killing me.

i heard that i couldn't just edit an xconf file anymore, due to some guy named hal, but i found 11-x11-synaptics.fdi to try editing the two and three finger mouseclicks and switch them. this effort has been stymied by the lack of those input codes being mapped in the .fdi file, so now i'm at square zero, with my mouse clicks backwards, and no idea what to do about it.

can anyone help me?

I feel you! Just upgraded to Karmic and for the past 20 minutes I've been looking for a way to get my 2/3 finger taps back to the way I am used to. I'll make you know if I do find a way.

I have this same problem-- I've been looking everywhere, but I'm not getting anywhere. There was an official bug report on this, but I can't even track it down now. Does anyone know where to find a description of how the driver actually interfaces with the touchpad?
