HP 2133 mini note, 9.10, not picking up mic

i have just installed ubuntu 9.10 on my Hp 2133 mini note. i downloaded skype and installed it then started a call and the person i called couldnt hear me and i couldnt hear them. i went into the sound preferances and went to input. in the box that says "please choose a device" there are no devices showing up. i cannot get my computer to recive sound.

is this a problem with Pulsaudio? im really stuck here.

Can anyone help me!!!?!?!?

Installed skype version 2.0 and selected "HD Intel (hw:0)" option.

works for my
