NovaTech Laptop rt73 wifi adapter worked perfectly before upgrade, works now in a very geriatic fashion. That is to say if the laptop is within 1m of the router wicd registers 80% signal but move 2m away from the router and it drops to around 40% which is virtually unusable.
This laptop is dual booting with XP, Yeah I know but I need it for the people who don't do ODF. and the XP partition works fine so it doesn't appear to be a hardware problem.
The only possible reason I can find is that lsmod reveals that both the rt73 and rt2500 modules are loaded amd dmesg does report a detection error.
So as I say I failed the IQ test just hope someone brighter then me comes up with a fix soon :mad:
