Install 9.10 without grub?

Is there any way of installing 9.10 without having it mess up my beautiful mint7 grub?

Yes, click 'Advanced' before the actual installation begins, that is, after partitioning and account setting. Delete the installation location for Grub, then proceed.
Once installed, you'll figure out how to boot it.
