in ubuntu 9.10, some of my keyboard shortcuts do not work regardless of everything that I have tried. ALT+F4 just kinda sits there and does not close any windows even though in the keyboard shortcuts preferences app and in the compiz settings manager it says that it is registered to close window, but it doesnt do anything. Also, if in the keyboard layout options, I map menu to super, many of my compiz shortcuts stop working, especially CTRL+ALT+Left and CTRL+ALT+Right, to change my current workspace.

Have you been able to restore your keyboard shortcuts? I happen to have installed Karmic on a work computer and was not able to use many of the default shortcuts (e.g. alt+f1, ctrl+q, etc.).

However, I found another post (here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1142592)) that has seemed to help... a little bit. I have been able to restore most of my shortcuts. However, I still cannot use <Ctrl> in such ways as cut/copy/paste/quit/etc.

Let us/me know if you've come up with anything else.
