View Full Version : New Digital Thermostat

In order to cut down on the heating bill this winter, I've just installed a new digital programmable thermostat in my house. It's led me to wonder about how warm other people keep their homes. Usually we keep ours set at 15 Celsius, bumping it up 17 just before we get up in the morning. Our friends and neighbours seem to stick to the same temperature range. I suspect this is in part because of the cost of heating oil here and comfort; most people don't like the shock of going from a +25 degrees inside to -25 degrees outside.

Travelling through Siberia, I was shocked that most of the people kept their homes in the 25 to 30 degree range.

So now, I am curious. What's the standard setting for where you live?

I like my house around 70 F (~21 C) In Spring, Summer, and Fall
And 72 (~22 C) in the Winter time.
