so far three issues after upgrading from 9.04 jaunty to 9.10 karmic:

1. karmic ignoring eth1 jaunty settings
and says ifupdown (eth2) disconnected. if i click that in the task bar, then it connects to eth2. but i must manually do that each time i come back from lock screen or suspend.

2. eclipse wizard boxes won't take action upon clicking [ok] .. in fact, often the ok doesn't highlight. I'm using latest Aptana Studio with RadRails. especially troublesome because now i cannot use the find or find/replace. please help with suggestions for work-around.

3. kernel problem
i get error message in taskbar saying: "Your system encountered a serious kernel problem." but doesn't tell me what it is, altho it wants to report it.

About the eclipse issue, please read the following thread:

The GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS workaround may be useful to you.

Actually there are two workarounds (see below) and it is a known issue with a non-standard Eclipse5.0 hack:

From: Arthur Nisnevich
Subject: Ubuntu 9.10 karmic upgrade causes wizard boxes to be unactionable

I had this problem as well, and it seems to be a known issue with Eclipse 3.5 (the default that comes with RadRails 2.0) and Ubuntu 9.10.

Found this workaround:
http://www.norio.be/blog/2009/10/problems-eclipse-buttons-ubuntu-910
(this worked great for me and solved several issues!)

(Another simple workaround is to press the button, then hit Space or Enter on your keyboard.)
