I've just installed 9.0.4 and upgraded to 9.10. Neither distribution recognizes my monitor and thereby does not allow me to change resolution or refresh rates beyond 800x600 @60. I have an ATI Rage Fury Pro with 32 MB memory. It is a AGP Pro card in a 1 Ghz Asus board with 512 MB memory. I an new to Ubuntu and have been looking for somewhere to force a redetect on hardware. When I am in display and click detect monitor, nothing happens. I have tried flashing the BIOS, and could use an older ATI video card in a PCI slot if necessary.
Other info, am dual booting with win 98. My last alternative would be wiping out Windows (to the cheering of millions) and reformatting the whole drive.
Any Thoughts or similar experiences?
