Okay, I know that I'm duplicating some previous posts/problems here, but I have not found a solution to mine during my research. When I boot Ubuntu using any of the following: my old kernel, the new kernel, or either in recovery mode, I get to a point where the system says: "Begin: Waiting for root file system . . ." it then eventually says "Alert! /dev/disk/by-uuid/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx does not exist. Dropping to shell!" Where I get dropped to the busy box. Now, I've tried playing around with where grub points, but to no avail. I'm dual booting XP/Ubuntu and have a total of three HDs installed in my machine. Now this is where my problem diverges from some others that I've seen. I cannot reach a command prompt except the busy box, except through the Live CD.
When I boot into the live CD I run fdisk -l and get this:
Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders

I can go back and get more information from that if need be. Please let me know what other information would be helpful. Oh, I can boot into my Windows partition just fine.
Thank you in advance.
