View Full Version : [gnome] GNOME panel doesn't show on multiple displays

Greetings!

I have two flat-panel displays on the same Ubuntu system running at different resolutions (1680x1050 and 1920x1080). The desktop spans both displays, but as a result, the bottom 30 pixels or so do not show on the display with the lower resolution.

Is there a way confine a panel to a single display or otherwise align the bottom (as well as the top) so that both panels are visible?

I noticed that if I click the panel and choose Properties, I can uncheck the "Expand" checkbox, which makes the panel not take up the entire two screens... until there are enough open applications that it does expand to do to. It seems the "Expand" checkbox is a misnomer, as the panel expands dynamically, just not entirely, automatically.

So, a way to confine the panel to a single monitor would be good. Maybe I should file this as a paper cut?

Thanks,

Peter
