Hi Everybody !!!...Today I am jumping with joy!!!
I am a Linux Newbie & had played with 9.04 as a first Install (I was fascinated)...
The problem was - i failed to install Nvidia Drivers for my 8600GT 512Mb...I wanted to enable Desktop Effects...
Scratched my Head...Went Mad...Googled the Net Day-Night...Gulped the forum posts...tried ten ways...just Failed!!!...I ended up screwing my system...I shifted to persistent Ubuntu on USB...with Default Graphic Drivers
Today in Ubuntu 9.10 nVidia drivers got installed in 8600GT simply by activating it from system>Administration>Hardware Drivers !!!...
No messup... No lengthy procedures... Desktop Effects Enabled!!!...3D Acceleration Enabled
