I have downloaded the file ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso directly and burned it to a CD.
But when I run wubi.exe, after it copies across everything it then tries to fetch the file ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso.torrent, reporting 120 hours to download!!
So I copied the ISO file to the desktop and placed wubi.exe there too. Then I dropped the ISO on wubi.exe and it did the same thing again.
I'm stuck now because my broadband throtttles torrents to 3kbps :( - and anyway, I bet it's the same file that it's trying to fetch...
