hi all,
my next semester i will be having c#.
so i want to know whether iv to do the work in MS or i can do it in ubuntu.
please mention what the downsides MD have over VS.

Well, at least you are using C#, which Mono is stronger with. Overall, though, I find Monodevelop to be clunkier than Visual Studio.

Part of that, though, is that I'm using VB.NET (actually ASP.NET) here at work and am more experienced with Visual Studio.

One thing you could do is run both Visual Studio and Monodevelop on Windows and toss back-and-forth between them until you determine which one you are more comfortable with, or if there is anything the class demands that Monodevelop cannot handle.

Although, your experience may vary, I took a class where Visual Studio was required. Every exam had a few questions like "How do you X in Visual Studio?" where X is some function of the IDE.

Also, if the class is taught using Visual Studio, I wouldn't expect much support from the instructor if you encounter some Monodevelop problem.
