Fav Firefox Extension

This one has been driving me to distraction for a wee while now. Whenever I open a new Tab it always comes up blank.

But not anymore, since I downloaded " New Tab Homepage 0.4.1 ". Now when I open a new Tab it automatically take me to my Home Page and not a Blank page. Now I know that their will be someone who will say that with Firefox you can just type a search into the address bar, I still like the look of a Search engine Home page.

it would have to be a toss up between noscript and adblock plus.

Why? Because they make webpages load faster. I can quickly read the content, w/o beign bombarded w/ crap flash ad banners and animations, and on my windows pc, prevents drive by malware infections.

NoScript. Dear webdesigners. AJAX is nice and all, but use it with wisdom. Sometimes I just want a page to load fast so I can read its contents. Thank you.

FlashBlock. Dear Youtube. I trust your flash apps so I allow them to pass through Adblock and Noscript. That doesn't give you the right of starting streaming videos without me asking for it. Thank you.

And I should have also mentioned- I also love Read it later- very handy. I just wish I could share my read it later bookmarks between two computers. sometimes I run a cross an interesting link at work, but don't have the time to read it and would like to read it at home, or vice versa.

Download Helper (http://www.downloadhelper.net/) - enables you to download media off a page with just a couple of clicks - Youtube .flv videos, jpegs, etc.

Old Bar - to turn off the so-called 'awesome' bar.

PrintPDF (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5971) - quickly capture webpages as a PDF, nicer for printing.

Screengrab (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146) - another way of capturing web pages, as images - can capture whole page, visible section, frames.

Can't imagine FF without 'em!

I tried this, but it didn't work for some reason.

However, TabMixPlus has the same option, plus a whole bunch of others. And it finally works in FF 3.5!

My favourite is definitely AdBlock Plus. I don't realise how much it gets used until I don't have it.

Not long at all. As for the transfer, all you need to do is get an addon that synchs bookmarks (a privacy hazard, but some people don't care) and then it will add it. Another way would be to go to Booknarks->Organize->Export to HTML the bookmarks. Then import them at home, and the read it later will import it.

I got to say xmarks make me nervous ever since they started offering passwords sync. Now I got a use once to sync your bookmarks than disable policy for xmarks.

Speed dial, far and away. I have two 3x3 groups, one of fun sites and the other for "work", and being able to ctrl+[number] to any page is such a convenience that it's probably Reason Numba One that I don't use Chromium as my main.

TreeStyle tabs. Essential for any widescreen display.

I tried it, as well as vert tab, and I ended up canning both of them. Yeah, they make use of widescreen displays, but the WASTE a ton of general screen real estate. I like to arrange windows side by side on my wide screen displays, and those addons kill too much space that could be used by another app.

What I totally would not mind though, would be fore a verticle tab addon, that actually rotated the tabs 90 degrees and placed the on the side of the window, similar to this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9181?src=api except for normal browser tabs...

A side status bar would be nice as well... I'd like to get rid of it, but my no-script icon is down there, as well as a couple others... I tried to go w/o it, but I had to get it back.

fast-dial.
shows thumbnails of a bunch of sites in your book marks. Like safari . Decreases the amount of time of surfing by tons since I don't have to keep going up and clicking "bookmarks" and searching through them to find the ones I want to see. I just click fast dial and click the site.

Keywords rule! On my firefox there is a feature similar to Research Word, I think TabMix+ offers it. You can select a word and in the context menu there is "Search Google for..."
