View Full Version : [SOLVED] 3D Game development environment for C#/C++

I am looking for a 3D Game development environment for C#/C++ where I am able to visualize several objects with shapes and textures imported from preferably Blend. (Exported from Blend into files I later can load into the program.) It must be free and easy to use, at least with some good tutorials on their homepage.

I need this to visualize some simulations on different objects I will be doing, so that I will be able to easily navigate a camera in this 3D world while the simulations are running so that I can view them from different angles and have a nice graphical representation of them.

I really hope some of you are able to give me some advice on feasible tools!

You also might want to check out crystalspace (http://www.crystalspace3d.org/main/Main_Page) and ogre3d (http://www.ogre3d.org/) both of which are quite mature with many features, I believe they're both in the universe repository

not really a game dev env. but horde3d is a very nice open source 3d graphics engine written in C++ with C# bindings.

I like what I see! I just compiled the first tutorials and it looks like this is just what I need :-) Thanks! And thanks for the other suggestions as well, but I don't have capacity to check them all out now, and I won't need to if Irrlicht turns out to be feasible. ;)
