It's not really a feature I think, but in my opinion the best thing they changed was to get rid of that annoying system beep. It really got on my nerves just about every time I was on my PC..

+1 I think it is way easier than synaptic especially for new Ubuntu users (not that I don't like Synaptic).

Yeah, Symtamatic's inability to quickly search for multiple terms was annoying. I just like how everything is a bit faster, and slicker, I got iTunes working, and I think my Windows partition will lay dormant for a long time. I was blown away by how fast the LiveCD loaded.
