Hi, bit of a problem here.

Installed 9.10, installed Avant Window Nav, everything was running fine, then I reset the laptop, and it says
"Warning: Screen isn't composited. Please run compiz (-fusion) or another compositing manager." when trying to load Avant.
So I uninstall Compiz, and reinstall it, that didn't work. Tried the same thing for the ATI drivers, and it's still not working.
Not getting any visual effects at all.

I'm running a Fujitsu Siemans Amilo D series laptop
Intel P4HT @ 3.06Ghz
2GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000

I don't know why it's not working, as like I said before, it was working fine an hour ago.

Edit: Went to Visual Effects, tried setting it to normal, it then tried searching for drivers, and then said that visual effects couldn't be enabled. Might try reinstalling, but would rather not.

I don't understand as to why this is marked as solved. I'm having this problem too. Everything was working fine and then suddenly... no desktop compisiting. Now I can't use AWN :(

I don't know if this will work, but try typing “compiz --replace” into a termial and pressing enter. It should reactive compiz as your compositor if it were turned off.
