Friend of mine bought a 25inch LCD a few months back, but then just a few weeks ago his desktop blew up.. (true story, very funny), power supply fried most everything in the process. Well he bought a huge gaming laptop and started using his 25"LCD with his new laptop as dual screen. Well the 20inch LCD he had before getting the 25 he gave to me.
I already had a 19inch LCD so I set them up side by side tonight. At first I thought it would drive me crazy with two monitors. But I am really starting to enjoy this with Xineramma.
How many of you also use multiple monitors?

dual 24's here.
and um, a power supply frying is not funny considering it could have started a fire.

I wish I had dual monitors, I could see it now, buying another 22" monitor would be very cool.

so if you use 2 or 3 monitors how does compiz work? does each monitor represent a workspace or what?

I used dual monitors before it was mainstream (circa 2003), but now everybody does it's not cool any more so i stopped (in reality, i use a laptop now so i only dual-screen when sit at my desk and even then i often don't bother)

beryl used to either have 2 small cubes or 1 large one, either way it treated to screens as a single display so you could not rotate one out of sync with the other (if you could it would break streched windows so i guess it's still the case now)

Not sure. I got it turned off. I have some stuff downloading, after that gets done I can try.

27" @ 1920x1080 and 2 - 22" @ 1680x1050 monitors as well as a 40" 1080p HDTV. 90% of the time I'm just using the 27" and a 22" though. The TV is used only when I watch movies from the PC.

I only use them when I code or model. Other than that, I'm usually staring at the second one (primary).
My first 28" seemed huge, now I can't stand to go back to just one monitor.

Nope, you're right, they're at 1920 x 1200.
Don't know where I got 1680 from. 23"-28" = 1920 x 1200

Man, I wish I had dual monitors!
Now I think I might save up some money to get a second monitor, plus a better video card.

I use dual 23" 1600x1050's at home. I used to use dual 24" 1920x1080's at work, but I switched to a single 30" 2560x1600 because it loses the split down the middle and has an awesome resolution!

I used to rock dual 22" @ 1680x1050 with one in portrait. I found that it didn't help me all that much though it was nice to have that much real estate. Tiling with a 22" @ 1680x1050 was better for me.

i have a 13" laptop screen with a 19" @ 1440x900 external. one of the proudest moments of my life when i finally got it running in its native resolution. haha, i have an intel graphics card so it wasnt a straightforward process at first. i cant use compiz, but being the overly practical person that i am, usability beats out coolness anyday...especially when im running simulations and doing work

I have only ever used one monitor which meets my needs perfectly because I can only look at one monitor at a time.

DO WANT!
I have my laptop and sometimes plug in my 19". When I build my new computer, I'm planning on two 24" monitors.
