View Full Version : [ubuntu] 9.10 installation problems

Hey there,

I downloaded the 9.10 desktop version for use on my laptop.

It's an old computer by my standards. It's an old Toshiba Satellite (model no. PSAA5A-01H00T for those interested) and is running a Celeron M and an ATi 200M 512MB ram (more than enough for Linux).

My problem is this:
sometimes the CD will boot in, sometimes it won't.

It will freeze in two different ways at times, onboard keyboard/mouse lockup. I've tried putting in my desktop's USB keyboard and mouse and at times the built-in keyboard and mouse on my laptop will lock up.

General freeze - It'll just lock up similar to the previous problem but all is non-responsive.

I've tried re-installing a few times, that's not really helped. I'd like to show you all the logs, but as it's LiveCD it doesn't really help and also when I do have it installed it just locks up when I try to boot so I can't even get to the logs there after.

Please any advice?
Any boot parameters I should use?
What should I do?
