View Full Version : [SOLVED] Problem in UpgraDing 9.04 -9.10 from Alternate CD

Trying to upgrade from alternate Cd:

I get the error:

Failed to fetch cdrom:[Ubuntu 9.10 _Karmic Koala_ - Release i386 (20091028.5)]/pool/main/d/dkms/dkms_2.1.0.1-0ubuntu1_all.deb Wrong CD-ROM

I cant really upgrade over the internet as the d/l speed is too slow.I burnt the alternate CD as per the guide.
I'm using a combo of CD and internet to upgrade, as per the install media's suggestion.

I have sony vaio FW140e, 2.2ghz, 3gb RAM, 250gb Hdd

Hope this doesn't end up being one of those unresolved bugs like my previous thread(sleep problem). I'm using minimal ubuntu because of that.

High Speed internet FTW!!

Also, i mounted the CD using

mount -o loop -t iso9660 file.iso /mnt/test

(from http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/857/mount-an-iso-file-in-linux/)

so that i didn't have to burn it,

i did't have to bother with the alternate CD either.

No more sleep problems in this one either, byebye Vista!!
