Hey, I just tried the Live CD before, ran the hardware test's everything works fine. So I went to install it (choosing a dual boot setup).

I have two HDD's, one with windows xp pro, and the second with my "My Documents" profile loaded on, music, movies etc.

The second HDD (with my windows profile) was partitioned with windows xp pro.

When getting to the HDD partitioning with the Live CD, i got an error saying that it couldn't partition the HDD because it had been done with windows, is there any work around for this?

I just logged back into windows xp to try and shrink the second HDD volume, but it doesnt have the option, so kinda stuck.

Installing ubuntu on the first HDD not really an option, even if it is I don't wish to setup ubuntu like that.

You should try with some win-dose based partitioner, like Partition magic.

I haven't used that in ages, but I am sure it has a pretty good resizing function
