Is there a Kubuntu version?

I doubt a G3 could handle 9.10.

I agree, my iBook is really only good as a terminal.

I don't care if its sluggish, anything is better than OSX 10.1.

You could try crunchbang, I'm not sure if it has a PPC version. Debian does, though.

No offence friend, but you're looking for something lighter than Ubuntu.

Well, how about one of the fine alternatives listed here? Personally, I'd recommend Lubuntu if you absolutely need a GUI. If you don't, then the Ubuntu minimal install cd, and then asking it to not install a GUI.

Install Debian stable and then install fluxbox or really any window manager you like. Debian supports PPC much better than Ubuntu.

I had Xubuntu 9.04 on mine. It ran right out of the box, and even recognized my USB wireless adapter. It ran slow though.

I suggest either Debian + XFCE/LXDE or minimal Ubuntu.

The only thing I could ever get to work on my old G3 Beige AIO was Yellow Dog..
