9.04 had no problem seeing and adding, as a network printer, an HP printer on my Windows-XP box. When I upgraded to 9.10, while I have no problem connecting to the Windows shares, the printer cannot be seen and thus I cannot add it as a network printer.

As can be seen in the screenshot below, the printer on the Windows Box names SQUIRREL didn't show the printer under it.

Here the same problem.

A win XP shares a Brother hl-2035 and shares also a PDFCreater (eDoc Printer).

Via the "Windows Printer via SAMBA" i can see the pdfcreator, but not the Brother-printer.

The solution:
In Windows i have changed the "Share-name" of the printer to a name without spaces.

Then it shows up in the list of printers via Samba

Thanks, but the "Share-name" of the printer on my Windows XP box already is a name without spaces. In addition to this 9.10 box I also have another machine running 9.04 and it has no problem seeing the Windows printer with the Add Printer dialog. Something changed for the worse from 9.04 to 9.10.
