Hey there! You probably just stumbled into the world of Ubuntu Linux. So which Ubuntu distribution is right for you? Well, you've come to the right thread. In this thread I will be comparing the major distributions of Ubuntu. Shall we get started? Lets.

Gnome (Ubuntu)
Gnome is your choice if you like

Visually pleasing effects
Something to do when you're bored
Checking email and surfing the internet
An easy to use interface

Please note that if you have an older computer, Gnome is very resource heavy.

KDE (Kubuntu)
KDE is right for you if:

You like eye candy
You like visually pleasing effects and interface
You like Desktop widgets (Plasmoids)
You like a user friendly interface

Please note that KDE is also very heavy on resources and can be a pain if you don't know how to work your way around with a terminal.
