Ugly Icons

Seriously - what's with the really ugly, flat, colourless icons for the power, WIFI signal, volume control etc etc etc. I mean - I thought I'd left that kinda really ugly display back when we had black and white screens, and not enough memory for such things. They were just fine under 9.04, I upgrade to 9.10 and they look sh**! My 5 year old can draw prettier pictures!

I agree, very disappointing... they are lost on my screen, have to search for them.

Asi i know its the humanity's icons, go to appearance > customize > icons > human.

OK,so I changed the ugly volume icon manually,replaced the old icons with:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/66/Gnome-audio-volume-medium.svg/48px-Gnome-audio-volume-medium.svg.png

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6c/Gnome-audio-volume-high.svg/48px-Gnome-audio-volume-high.svg.png

renamed them to:

audio-volume-low.svg
audio-volume-medium.svg
audio-volume-high.svg
audio-volume-muted.svg

and copied them (as root) to:

/usr/share/icons/Humanity/status/16
/usr/share/icons/Humanity/status/22
/usr/share/icons/Humanity/status/24
/usr/share/icons/Humanity/status/32
/usr/share/icons/Humanity/status/48

At last the ugly-volume-icon is gone., ;-)

anyone know how to change another icon. karmic taskbar icon is ugly. i want to change it to jaunty's icon
