Okay, I have been trying for 3 HOURS to get this stupid flash player to work on my Ubuntu installation. I have tried the .deb, the .rpm, the .so (which I have no idea how to use, google's solutions didn't work), the .tar.gz (which contained the .so) and probably everything else, and this stupid flash player won't work. I've downloaded scripts, no idea how to use then, followed half-hour terminal instructions to no avail, and watched about 7 videos. Nothing has worked...

So someone, please help me, I just want to do some basic things on here, why does it have to be so hard to install flash player?

EDIT: I'm using 9.10 Karmic Koala

Ahhah! Got it! I had to select both of the unselected Karmic Koala repositories and refresh them in the synaptics package manager. Thanks for the help, though.

use the package manager to install flashplugin-nonfree

see this page:
https://help.ubuntu.com/9.04/internet/C/web-browsing.html

you can also try this link:
apt:flashplugin-installer?section=universe?section=multiverse

The links should work for 9.10 also, they just haven't been updated yet.
