xbmc install with Karmic

Can anyone advise if it's better to wait to install XBMC in Karmic 9.01?

I notice the instructions in Wiki show jaunty repository and when I tick off the files in Synaptic, it shows a lot of dependency changes.

I held off in making the installation changes and thought I would ask here. Am I asking for trouble?

yes if you are very new to ubuntu,
if you are familiar with compiling from source then you can give it a try :)
