View Full Version : [ubuntu] how to use gdm for 9.04 on 9.10

I did the upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 the other day. Aside from sound being muted after upgrading, and my desktop icons being resized smaller, all seems to have gone well. So my problem isn't a PROBLEM, rather a preference;
I really liked the gdm login setup I had with 9.04. I suppose I could get used to the rather restrictive login setup used with 9.10, but, since this is Linux, not MS, I should be able to customize, right?
Is there a way to install the 9.04 gdm and login on my 9.10 installation?
I've searched these threads till my eyes have concentric rings around them, but haven't found one pertaining to this.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know that this can be done using the gdm for Fedora 9 on Fedora 10, as I have done it. I'm seeking help for doing the same thing with 9.04/9.10.
Any help or links to tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
