Keyboard types keys randomly with usb in

Hi guys, am really stumped Don't know if it is a upgrade issue or what but when I insert a USB such as a wireless mouse or a ipod my keyboard (using a laptop by the way) begins to input random keys, this is a very annoying issue and I hope you guys can shed some light on it.
