Updates and patches

Hi,

I just realised that I put a thread in the wrong place http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=57627#post57627

and it should have been here :confused:

I just wanted to know when doing a daily update i.e. apt clean,update,dist-upgrade etc do any security and any other patches that are available automatically get applied or must I do something manually to do that ?

With Synaptic, you have to press the apply button. If you are issuing those commands via the terminal, they get applied automatically.
