Hi, I'm using the 9.10 alternative installation cd on my old windows computer. The computer's internal hard drive died so I am trying ubuntu because it can be installed on an external drive (so I'm told.) I've tried installing with the live cd and it freezes on partitioning as well at 5%. The alternative cd freezes at 33% after partitioning the two smaller partitions. When it gets to the main one.. 40GB in size it starts then freezes. It is trying to use ext4 file system. Does this matter? Also I only have 255MB ram so that's why I'm using the alternative. Please help me!
