View Full Version : [ubuntu] Help!!!! Installation failed, no grub!!!

I had an empty partition and decided to install 9.10 there, but then when tried to boot in 9.10, it just restarted, though I could still choose 9.04 to boot, I decided to redo the installation and deleted the partition with 9.10. Now it doesn't load anything and when I try to use the CD with the trial version, just goes on for a few minutes and then reboots.

Please help!!!!!! Desperately needed!!!!

i have found several guides which all at the end stops almost at the same place, trying to chroot comes up an error about "/bin/bash" : Exec format error


please help!!! I'm desperated!!!

I already tried that one, no good, that's for writing grub on the mbr.
Below has some other instructions, but I can't get beyond chrooting

After rebooting I still get the same message:

GRUB loading.
error: no such partition
grub rescue>

what should I do???

As i don't have the beast sat in front of me, it's not tooooooo easy to recommend stuff, does this thread help ?
