Thankfully I don't seem to have the other sound issues. I can open up audacious and it works fine and flash works and all that.

However, I pipe the sound from my xbox and ps3 through my computer to my speakers via the line-in port on my motherboard. I've gone into sound preferences and selected for "Hardware", Internal Audio, profile, Analog Stereo Duplex. For Input I have selected Connector: Line-In, and chosen Internal Audio Analog Stereo for my device. (The only other options for both of these tabs is my logitech microphone).

The funny thing is that I can see my input level change as sound comes in. When I play a video it maxes out and when I navigate the menus on my ps3 it jumps with each "click" sound, but I don't hear any of it. I have input volume maxed out and unmuted, but it doesn't help.

So for the most part I know I have the right settings because I can see that the computer is receiving the sound and doing something with it, it's just not forwarding it to my speakers.
