View Full Version : [ubuntu] Some icons don't show up

I just upgraded to Karmic, I copied my entire home directory and pasted it over my Karmic default one (Including hidden folders/files) instead of upgrading so I could get a "cleaner" installation. In retrospect that wasn't a good idea; I've fixed all of my other problems I had but there's one left:

As you can see some of the icons are missing. I tried reinstalling the Humanity icon themes but nothing changed. This isn't the only place it happens, there are a large number of icons gone from the GIMP too.
Help would be appreciated. I personally would link this directly to my way of restoring my home folder, but my .themes and .icons folders are empty of anything relevant.

Hey dsavi,

The solution is to go to System > Preferences > Appearance.

Select the interface tab and tick 'Show icons in menus'.

I had the same issue and this worked for me.
