View Full Version : [SOLVED] ubuntu-generic-pae does not work

October 31st, 2009, 12:31 PM
Hey there,

recently I tried to run my system with the generic-pae kerlen which allows a 32 bit system to use more than 4GB RAM. Alright, I installed it by typing:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-generic-paeI restarted my system and voila - nothing but a command line where I had to enter my username and password. I was unable to log myself in, because the screen seemed to refresh several times per second, so I had to run a live system and repair the "damage".

Ah, and theres a little error at the installation, does anyone know how to solve this issue? :)

Kind regards

Alright, maybe I should have read the error message with a little more attention; I think I got it. ^^
