UNR 9.04 Blank Desktop

I'm currently running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 (9.10 gave me tons of trouble) on my HP Mini 1000. I just installed all recent updates and now when I log in it takes me to a blank desktop with no panel or anything, just the background.

Before updating, I was using the classic desktop. I believe perhaps my toolbar is hidden above my screen, but I have no idea how to get to it. All I can do is right click and bring up the options to create a new folder or file.

This problem exists in the old version and the new one. I'm stuck in the other desktop theme and have no panels to minimize/maximize etc. I used to previously solve the problem by running /usr/bin/gnome-panel.

Try opening up terminal and type in: /usr/bin/gnome-wm. If that fixs the problem, then create a shortcut on your desktop to that place and run it everytime you need to reboot.
