I have been dual booting 9.04 and Windows Vista. Yesterday I added 9.10 in a new partition that I created in some free space.

In 9.10 I right click on the desktop and uncheck Keep Aligned. Then the next time I log in, the box is checked. This didn't happen in 9.04. How can I make 9.10 stop rechecking Keep Aligned?

Found another thread on this issue

still doesn't seem to have a fix.

I have the same recurring question

I think the fix Might be in:

Applications > System Tools > Configuration Editor > . . . ?

OR

gconf-editor

But I am not sure where or How ?
any help

after some More research I believe it to be a "Bug" ?

Found this:

GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 589156
'Keep Aligned' option always resets to 'true' after desktop reload
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589156 (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589156)

and I just Confermed changing the:

/apps/nautilus/desktop-metadata/directory/nautilus-icon-view-keep-aligned key

From "True" to "False" Resets Back to "True" after restarting.

Thanks for any Help
