Hey
I just downloaded Eclips (Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers) (http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/epp/downloads/release/galileo/SR1/eclipse-jee-galileo-SR1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz) for the 64-bit version of unbuntu. The file itself is a tar.gz file, know i am a bit lost here because i don't have a clue on how to install this onto my computer. I seem to be able to extract the file, and run eclips from the map itself, but i don't think that that's the correct way to do this.

EDIT: since posted this in the wrong section, i created a similar thread in the general section, here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8200252#post8200252).
An Admin should delete this thread if possible.

Have you checked the README or similar?

There is one but it does not specify on how to install it on Linux.
It is general information about eclipse and the known issues about it.
