First, my apologies if this post is improperly placed, but it might shed some light on a peculiar bug.
Symptoms: Using the PulseAudio wrapper with Wine results in having no ability to capture sound from my USB headset.
Odd workaround: If the Linux Sound Preferences or PulseAudio Volume Control windows are open while attempting to capture, it works. This was tested predominately with Ventrilo.
I don't understand why it is doing this and lack the experience try to help diagnose the issue.
Versions:
Ubuntu 9.10
Wine 1.1.32
Ventrilo 3.04
PulseAudio 0.9.19
