Ok, so, I first started 9.10 and there were popping sounds every time something tried to make a noise. I found that a fix to this was to comment out the bottom line of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, which I have done. I restarted the PC, and there were no popping noises, but there was NO SOUND AT ALL. Nothing. Made sure it wasn't muted. Spent about 1 hour looking at anything to do with sound. Nothing. So, un-commented line in alsa-base.conf, restarted, and still no sound!! So now, popping or not, I never get sound from my computer. It is possibly that I may have accidentally edited something else in alsa-base.conf, but unlikely.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Adam
