9.10 Install fails at partition manager

I have downloaded the 9.10 386.iso and checked the md5 sum. I am trying to do a fresh install on a system that is running 9.04.
The live system works but as soon as I try to install I get to the partition editor and it does not show anything and I cannot proceed.

This happens when installing from the initial boot screen and from the live install.

I do not want to do an upgrade.

I will go back and try gparted from the live install.

Any ideas?

did you check the custom my partition and see if it is visible?

I went back and tried Gparted from the live install and it worked!

Then tried install again and all was fine. Now have 9.10 up and running.

I would still like a possible explanation though.
