I have 9.04 server 32-bit installed on my dev box 3 days ego, did full update before upgrade, but do-dist-upgrade hangs multiple times during upgrade on trivial tasks such as generating conf file or "Removing obsolete conffile" on some packages.

It will hang quite possibly indefinitely - I've had enough patience to wait 3h for a single package before pressing ctrl+c, which makes it continue, but as the package is not configured it does snowball as the upgrade proceeds.

Total list of packages that have failed:

cron
logrotate
ubuntu-standard
avahi-daemon
avahi-utils
libnss-mdns
bind9
udev
ubuntu-minimal

Note: this is an old P3 box with 384MB ram

After 3 hours I gave up and installed fresh 9.10 server without a single glitch, but should it be remote only server it really would have been a serious issue :/
