Upgraded to Karmic Kola, scanner doesn't work

so. .two days back, I finally managed to install and make an HP scanner work. http://racoon97.blogspot.com/2009/04/install-hp-scanjet-g2410-scanner-on.html

yesterday, i upgraded to karmic kola, and followed the instructions as i did earlier. but this time, xsane gives this error:


failed to open 'hp2400:libusb:002:002'
access to resource has been denied

what exactly is wrong?

i scoured around the web for solutions.

it seems there's no 'scanner' group in karmic koala neither is there a 45-libsane.rules file. do i need to create both to get my scanner working in 9.10?

altho, after modifying it displayed two scanners. one hp2400 and the other genesys.

Phew had me worried there, just tried mine and it still works after the upgrade.
