Just thought it would be interesting to see the variation of how many Seconds/ Minuets / Hours your Download took .

Mine used to take 1 and a half hours two years since but with my current ISP its around 14 Minuets to download a 690 MB ISO.

I would say months, because I've been using karmic since the alpha. I have wasted much time with daily updates.

about 20-25.
I chose the Switzerland mirror and it was fast. I tried a bunch of others first and they came down at 30kbs to 120kbs. The swiss was 500-630.

Sadly I had to direct download, but it only took about 10 minutes. I used the MIT server in North America. Hopefully later I will get my friends to seed some.

It was really fast on Bittorrent actually due to the number of peers! I couldn't really have hoped to get it faster :)

You should get it in a library or cafe, transfer it in a flash drive, and burn it at home. That way it will not take forever.

Mine took 12 hours on DSL! Must be every one was downloading from the servers at the same I did and it was slooow. Fortunately, with the exception of a corrupted Open Office install, the upgrade completed without incident. Upon reboot, I was able to get Open Office set up and working again!

I'll DL the alternate and server disks in school on Monday, they get 1Mbyte/s so I can get them all in one class, but I really wanted the desktop x86 iso now :)

I'm deployed to Iraq right now and it took about 14hrs @ roughly 7-19kbs, I watched the site like a hawk for it to change over so I could be on first, I was actually happy it was that fast. I was gone most of the night so it didn't bother me much.

Installed fine, alittle slow imo, and having the typical Dell fan issue.

Torrent seems to be the best way to get the ISO based on some of the numbers in this thread.

20 minutes for the alternate install iso from the fastest US mirror.

(It didn't survive more than half an hour once I started actually using it... glad I had it on a spare drive.)

The morning it was up, I downloaded via Torrent at 2.2/MBps, so it completed pretty fast. I then seeded it most of the day while I was at work. :p

I couldn't tell, I was napping a bit, but I'll guess 1-2 hours, since it was done when I woke up.

I'd say that over the course of two days (I needed to shut down in between classes), it took about 9 or 10 hours with the Wi-Fi connection I had the past few days.

Took me about 30 mins to download. I'm using someone elses wireless though and it's a weak connection. I stationed in South Korea so I think it came from the Japan Server. If I would have been at my fiances place and not the barracks maybe 3 mins 7 max using Internet Download Manager.

It took me about 10 hours to download it (I'm at a University so the variance of download speed is huge) and when it did finish downloading it didn't even work xD

Too long to upgrade. Had to cancel. It goes from 8 to 15 hours. I guess my speed here is not consistent. Trying BiTorrent now and see how it goes.

Upgraded from the RC, I think the whole download was around 5MB, so it was done in a couple seconds.
