If I go 64bit this time around am I'm going to have to jump through any hoops with my 8800gts nvidia card to get it up and running? Or is it going to work out of the box?

:)

nvidia has a new driver out for geforce cards running on 64bit os.. came out like two days ago. i installed it after my 9.10 upgrade from command line, and it's working like a charm.

Oh Gawd! Are there some easy to follow instructions somewhere? ;)

Otherwise... Are there at least some drivers that come stock like in the 32bit version where I just need to click a button to get them up and running?

Thanks

hello :-)
you can use envy

Installing Envy is very easy:
-> Open the terminal
-> Type “sudo apt-get install envyng-gtk” to install envy
-> Run envy from Applications>SystemTools menu
-> Select the Compatible and Recommended driver and then click on apply.
